The first question has no easy answer. He's an artist, a writer, a bon vivant and raconteur, a professional specialist in cartoon giant robots. His past is shrouded in mystery, his future unforeseeable, his present activities obscure. Who can say what's reality and what's myth when it comes to this enigmatic figure?
Note that although zombies are listed among my interests, I don't endorse and support them without qualification. I do, however, endorse and support blackbirds, goats, and coots, particularly American Coots.
